چکیده

Abstract Background Breast cancer subtypes are known to have different metastatic recurrence sites. Distant metastases often observed during the post-operative course in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-enriched breast and triple-negative cancer, but relatively rare those hormone receptor-positive HER2-negative (HR+/HER2−) cancer. Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) serve as an index monitor tumor immune microenvironment may possibly predict prognosis therapeutic effect This study aimed investigate correlation between TIL density site HR+/HER2− Methods In stages I–II of who underwent surgery first treatment received adjuvant endocrine therapy (except chemotherapy), forty-two relapsed after surgery. TILs were evaluated using needle biopsy specimens for diagnosis Morphological assessment was conducted conventional hematoxylin eosin staining. Results Six had no density. them, local significantly less ( p = 0.022), while distant more 0.015) compared Therefore, prediction without chemotherapy, could be used predictors univariate analysis 0.015, odds ratio [OR] 0.127), although not independent factors 0.285, OR 0.144). Conclusions Our findings indicate that do undergo chemotherapy.

Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in breast cancer

We have prospectively validated in an independent clinical cohort the finding that elevated amounts of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in breast carcinoma tissues predict the response of patients to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. These results suggest that a robust tumor infiltration by T and B cells is a promising biomarker to define patients who might benefit from neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Adoptive transfer of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes for metastatic cervical cancer

Adoptive T-cell therapies for cancer can induce tumor responses in patients with metastatic melanoma, synovial sarcoma, and B-cell malignancies. However, no cellular therapy has demonstrated activity in a common epithelial tumor. Adoptive transfer of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) has high response rates and can induce complete and durable tumor regression in metastatic melanoma. We sough...

Comparison of tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes between primary and metastatic tumors in breast cancer patients

The presence of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is associated with favorable long-term outcome in breast cancer. However, little is known about changes in TILs during metastatic progression. To confirm our hypothesis that malignant tumors escape from the host immune system during metastasis, we evaluated the percentage of TILs in paired samples of primary and metastatic breast tumors. We ...

Relevance of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in breast cancer

While breast cancer has not been considered a cancer amenable to immunotherapeutic approaches, recent studies have demonstrated evidence of significant immune cell infiltration via tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in a subset of patient tumors. In this review we present the current evidence highlighting the clinical relevance and utility of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in breast cancer. Retrosp...

Characterization and quantification of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in breast cancer

Results A positive correlation between CD3 and CD8 expression (rs=0.614, n=24, P 0.001) and CD3 and CD45RO expression (rs=0.621, n=24, P 0.001) were noted in the center of the tumor (CT).CD3 median percentage in CT was higher in grade 2 and grade 3 breast carcinoma compared to grade 1 (P 0.023). CD3 in the center of the tumor and CD8 in the invasive margins (IM) were significantly higher in ER/...
